I'm Nathan, a builder who loves turning ambitious ideas into digital reality.
My journey began when I was 8 years old and found a copy of QBasic on my home computer. It came with some example programs, and I had a fascination for how things fit together and how the code turned into games I could play. I picked them apart and made my own games. I created and recreated everything I could think of: Space Invaders, Pong, a graphing app, compression and archiving tools, a voting system for my high school elections, encryption tools, an SMTP server, an HTTP server, a social network...
I’ve had the pleasure of working at Google, a tech unicorn (AppNexus), and co-founding my own startup (StackSource). I’ve met a lot of smart and inspiring people along the way, and I’m excited about what’s next.
For me, software is a craft and a conversation, between people, tools, and ideas. I want to keep that conversation alive, to keep learning, and to build things that matter.
Some of my go-to shows for interesting stories and staying grounded.
